A conversation between friends on a fishing trip aboard the Maverick built ‘SuperFly” off the coast of Costa Rica resulted in this unique Sport Yacht.
The friend, a businessman and long time yachtsman from New England remarked to Larry Drivon, owner of Maverick Yachts, Costa Rica, that the attractive, efficient and dry hull design could be made into a luxury Sport Yacht to compete with the best in the world, and at the same time be different, more efficient, and better looking than anything available today. The vision was to incorporate the latest in marine technology; e.g. Volvo IPS, Seakeepers stabilization, Raymarine lighthouse touch screen navigation on the most beautiful hull afloat, with an interior like a mega yacht.
The discussion continued with naval architect, Erwin Gerard and turned into drawings, plans and ultimately “Trident”. Volvo and Raymarine "jumped" onboard; the Seakeeper worked like a dream.
Launched at the Palm Beach Boat Show and Now at home in Palm Beach Florida, the rave reviews continue to validate the vision.
The next yacht in this first Trident series build, came the 53’ Trident currently under construction. Slated for delivery in September 2016, this handmade, custom boat will sport a bright natural finish solid wood mahogany hull, full custom interior, top of the line electronics, twin Volvo 800 IPS engines, and the finest fit and finish in the industry.
Built by master craftsmen with years of boat building and custom furniture experience, these men fashion the boats with a combination of traditional wood working technique, and high tech materials. Solid wood toe rails, rub rails, interior and exterior trim are found throughout the boat. The finest exotic wood veneers are used inside, and all decks are finished with close grain, hard genuine teak.
Taking the “Sport Yacht” to a whole new level at a very attractive price.
